After two weeks of touring we are looking forward to handing your children back to you! In all seriousness, we have all had an amazing time and the boys have been a credit to themselves, to you and to the school. We have had numerous comments praising their behaviour from members of public, from hosts, from hotel staff and staff involved in their activities. We have been really pleased with how they have performed on and off the field and feel they will take away many lessons from the experiences they have had. Thank you for your support and the comments on the blog. We wish all the boys the best for their rugby futures, hope you have a lovely summer.

Back on British soil
We have arrived safely at Heathrow after an overnight stay at a luxury 5 star hotel in Seoul. We weren't expecting it but a very nice way to finish a great tour. We are currently on the bus on our way to school. We expect to be on Guthrie rd at 9:00pm depending on traffic conditions. See you there.

Day 12 and results from final fixture.
The morning was spent chilling out with a bit of shopping in the city centre. We then made our way to St. Joseph's College, Nudgee (known as Nudgee) for the final fixture of the tour. A few boys were quite emotional when they realised that this would be their last ever game for The Pre.
After a fine display in their previous encounter, the Bs struggled to compete against Nudgee and it seemed that after two weeks, tired legs had got the better of them. They had trouble getting themselves up for the game and their confidence dropped early on. There were gutsy efforts from some individuals but these could not lift the team performance and they were eventually overwhelmed. It was a real pity that they couldn't finish on a high as their performances and determination in previous matches deserved it. They have come a long way over the last two weeks and will be able to use the experiences they have gained out here to make themselves better rugby players.
Judging by the look in the eyes of the A team boys before the game, they were certainly up for the challenge ahead. They had clearly learnt from their previous games that hitting the ruck in a low position and tackling the bigger opponents around the legs was the recipe for success. At the end of a tough but close first half we were trailing 10-0, but very much in the game. A lot of possession and pressure led to a charged down try by Will Stump which was converted by Jack Coates (10-7). Nudgee scored again soon after to make the score 15-7, if anyone was under the impression that this was the end of the game, the Clifton lads had a surprise for them as they dominated an extraordinary last 5 minutes of the match with Andrew King running in two tries, both created by breaks from Tom Horton. Final Score 17-15 to Clifton.
A fantastic finish to a tough but very exciting match and a result the boys thoroughly deserved after the hard work they have put in throughout the tour. Every lad has given of their best and the feeling and delight they showed at the final whistle was a wonderful way to finish the playing part of the tour.
After the presentations we hot footed across town to see the Brisbane Broncos thump, their local rivals, The Gold Coast Titans 30-10. Alarmingly the weather decided to do impression of an English summer and the tour kagools came in quite handy. However, the boys were treated to some world class rugby league play from the planet's greatest player: Darren Lockyer.
The boys are now tucked up in bed, resting before their last day in Australia.

Day 11
We collected the boys after their last night of billeting and headed off to catch a boat we had chartered to take us to Moreton Bay.
Unfortunately en route we had a phone call to tell us that our boat had engineering problems and could no longer take us. Thankfully our rep, Lloyd, was super efficient and had arranged for a ferry trip to the same destination (we have been very impressed with how he has looked after us this tour). The new plan meant that would have the opportunity to feed some wild dolphins as well as the snorkelling that we were expecting.
On arrival at the Island, we collected our flippers and snorkel equipment and made our way towards the wrecks. There was plenty of fish and fortunately no sharks (that we saw), some boys did see a ray, though.
Sorry about this last picture, we were not allowed to use a flash with the dolphins so they didn't come out very well.

We then spent a few hours playing volleyball, touch rugby and various other ball games in the sand until sunset. It was then time to feed the dolphins which was an amazing experience. There is a group of about ten wild Dolphins that return to beach every evening. We were able to wade into the water with them and they took small fish out of our hands. Incredible!

Days 9 and 10
The Surf was up in Surfer's paradise on Day 9 of tour. All the boys took to the beach for a morning's instruction from the Get Wet Surf School. Most of the kids and staff managed to stand up and a great deal of fun was had by all. Robert West was 'king of the waves' and was reluctant to come out of the water when the session was over.

In the first match the B team lost 29-5 in what was a much closer game than the score suggests. It was great to get a try (from Sammie Matthews) and to see Tommy Probert make his first appearance of tour. The second half was a five all draw and the lads are starting to realise what they are capable of. The wide pitches have made it difficult for us all tour and the superior pace out wide was our downfall once again. The adjustments to the lineup helped in this respect and we were unlucky not to score a few more points.
In the second match the A team lost 60-0 in what was another tough encounter. The boys again gave a good account of themselves but were beaten by very a strong side. The boys are growing in stature and are proving themselves individually with some outstanding tackling and determination. Again, the wide pitches and the strength of the opposition at the breakdown was our downfall.
There have been no serious injuries but a few bumps and bruises as the tour enters its final phase, their spirits remained high as they left for their last night of billeting. Well done to the entire squad for another fantastic effort. We are all learning a lot about ourselves and the game of rugby over here in the southern hemisphere.

Day 8 and Results from Fixture 3
G'day from the sunny Gold coast.
After a night with hosts, all the boys I spoke to reported that they had enjoyed staying with their families and, having been dropped off about an hour before kick-off, the boys spent time swapping stories of the previous evening.
The two teams played on neighbouring pitches in the beautiful grounds of All Saints Anglican School.
Clifton B vs. All Saints U12
Lost 19-0
Despite dominating the breakdown area for the majority of the match and maintaining possession very well the Bs were unable to convert this in to points as the opposition tackled relentlessly. All Saints managed to score one early try on a breakaway and the score then stayed at 5-0 for the majority of the match. We new that they had superior speed in the backs and so tried to play a forwards dominated game, this worked but unfortunately we couldn't make the breakthrough. It was towards the end that, realising we needed to take a few risks that we then leaked another two tries. All the boys played well in hot conditions.

Lost 53-22
The result doesn't reflect how close and entertaining this match was. There was some excellent rugby played by both sides. At the end of the first half the score was 17-10 to All Saints and we were camped in their twenty-two, unfortunately, they scored a run away try to go into the break 24 -10 up. The second half was much the same with the boys making some great tackles. The difference between the two sides was one lad who was able to penetrate our defence time and time again and ended up scoring three of their tries. It was a tough game because of the heat but Clifton finished with their heads held high and certainly scored the pick of the tries.
We were very well hosted by All Saints School and the boys all disappeared with their families once more looking forward to an array of different activities.

Day 7
We had a great day at the Wet n Wild water park, some thought it the best of the tour so far.
The boys have met and are now with their host families. The school looked really nice and everyone was very friendly.
We are looking forward to the match tomorrow should be a lovely day. The teams are unchanged apart from Jack Clark.

Day 6
The morning started off with a bus journey out to our second opponent's oval.
Brisbane State High were tough opposition and both sides suffered heavy defeats yesterday. The matches were played in good spirits and although some were initially daunted by the size of one or two of the opposition they quickly overcame this and matched their opposition in skill and technique. Inevitably both teams were overwhelmed by the athleticism of the opposition. Playing on a full sized pitch allowed our opponents to use their pace to get around us and it was in this fashion that they scored the majority of their points.
We were very proud of their determination, sometimes a defeat can bring the boys closer together, this is what touring is all about and they are raring to go for the next match tomorrow.
Special mention goes to Jack Clark for the way he coped with his injury, he is all smiles today and looking forward to the boys carrying his bags.
In the evening we managed to get the Super 15 final on a big screen in the hostel, as well as a bit of house work.
We are currently on the road to the Gold Coast and will be spending most of the day at a water park.

Day 5
After the quick flight up to Brisbane early this afternoon we arrived at our hostel at about 4:00pm. It is situated pretty much over the road from Suncorp stadium, the venue for tomorrow night's Super rugby final. Having tried our best to get tickets to the biggest rugby union event of the year (bar the world cup of course) I'm afraid we have been unsuccessful. We are instead trying to sort out a local venue to watch the game.
Having settled in, we had a quick swim in the pool on the roof and then went for a walk along the river.
With the second set of matches tomorrow morning it will be an early night.

Day 4
We spent the morning at Taronga Zoo, after a quick ferry trip across the harbour from Circular Quay. It is slightly larger than Bristol zoo! The boys were happy to spend five hours there! It also had great views back at the Sydney skyline. Late afternoon was spent at Manly doing some shopping and finished with some touch rugby on the beach as the sun set.
The evening was spent in Kangaroo court, with The Honourable Judge Smith presiding over matters. Some interesting cases were put forward, matched only by the peculiar defences and the fact that Robert West was thrown out of court for laughing uncontrollably.
Awards were also given for performance highlights during our first match and the special award for our first "Flaming Gallah" of the tour, you may notice the ceremonial headwear that he will be sporting in future photos.
This morning, the boys are packed and breakfasted and look forward to a slightly shorter flight to Brisbane for the second leg.

This morning we took a trip up Sydney Tower where we experienced some amazing views of the city. We then had a quick lunch before boarding the bus out to Lane Cove Oval for our matches

Day 2
After a good night's sleep all the boys seemed to feel a lot better this morning so our strategy of not letting them sleep yesterday seems to have paid off.
We started off the morning with a walk over Sydney Harbour Bridge and then on to the Opera house and the Botanical gardens. Lots of photos were taken and boys seemed to enjoy the sights.
We then took the coach out to Manly for lunch, we then did a bit of training on a nearby beach called Freshwater Bay. The training was good and the boys were focussed on tomorrow's round robin matches against Lane Cove and West Pymble.
We finished off the day with a visit to a Mall and a stroll back to the hotel.

Sydney
We arrived in Sydney on time this morning at 6:30am and, after swiftly making it through immigration and customs, we met up with our rep, Lloyd. By 9:00am we had had a photo stop at Bondi beach and were settling at Coogee beach. After a short run along the beach the boys jumped into the ocean to freshen up. We spent most of the morning playing touch rugby and cooling off in the water. The weather was fantastic, Australian winter puts our summer to shame.
At midday we had a BBQ on the beach, poor skippy!! We then made our way back to the hotel and checked in properly. The afternoon consisted of a stroll down to Darling Harbour and to the Aquarium to see the Sharks and Dugongs. The boys were getting pretty tired by this time and are looking forward to dinner and an early night.
We are currently sat on the roof terrace of the hotel overlooking the Opera House, Bonza!
At midday we had a BBQ on the beach, poor skippy!! We then made our way back to the hotel and checked in properly. The afternoon consisted of a stroll down to Darling Harbour and to the Aquarium to see the Sharks and Dugongs. The boys were getting pretty tired by this time and are looking forward to dinner and an early night.
We are currently sat on the roof terrace of the hotel overlooking the Opera House, Bonza!

Seoul
We have arrived safely in Seoul. Our flight from London was delayed about an hour but we made it up in flight. It is 5:00pm here and we are waiting for our 7:00pm flight to Sydney. The boys and staff are in good spirits and just met the Japanese Rugby team.
